Cyclic existence

I wonder how long this idyllic lifestyle or rather, mentality can last.

I did feel like a carefree tai tai, when I'm yet tied down to anything. Did some reading of books in the library and went grocery shopping with mummy and daddy, to prepare for the steamboat. Anticipating for that day!

On a sad note, when the mountain tortoise crawled out of his homey shell, he realized the world out is not all sweet. And damn, while he just wants a serene and happy walk, he has to cross fingers to hope that no anonymous and strangers to piss him off.

After a day out, the home's best.

Another phase of life 2

Dear Shooting Star,

Mood: PISSED
Meeting unscrupulous people, these insignificant passing clouds can really be a pain in a neck. I'm not making a storm out of a teacup, but sometimes, their inconsiderate behavior is so nauseating. Does it matters if I didn't realize that I'm supposed to "thoughtfully" move my butt to the next empty seat so that your can fulfil your desire to sit together with your bf?

Pathetic soul she is when she is angry over a mere misunderstanding and her failure to ASK politely for me to move. How am I supposed to know that you two really really want to sit together? When you two are healthy emo teens and your alight is just about 5 stops from the place you were.

True enough, the disability to break the realization that phenomena are devoid of inherent existence causes her to be angry over such small matters. The seat is not forever yours. Like a wild beast who deems that place as its marked territory.

On a happy note, I could be employed! ><

Went to the agency to deal with some administrative matters and my, the female employees there are like dressing to go for clubbing! Short skirts, high heels and 'effortless' hairdo = unkempt oba-san hairstyle. While sauntering around, they are comparing their outfits. -.-*3

I shall be mastering the act of not smiling and glaring, for the right reasons. Just to fend off some anal freaks.

Love,
Heal

Another phase of life

Dear Shooting Star,

This shall be the second time experience of interview. At least, I went there prepared, knowing what else to speak of myself. All thanks to a guide book, otherwise I might be really stupefied by their questions.

Really queasy with using excel and damn it, I didn't learn it well during my school days. Going to the  office is really a journey, albeit locating pretty near to where I live. Saw bunch of uni students waiting for the public bus to campus and was pretty revolted by the long wait they have to put up, as buses are so loaded and crammed. How I wish that I have a car next time.

Fat hope.

Saw people hovering with their iphones and probably playing with the applications. Seems like owing an iphone isn't such a big deal anymore, when everyone can easily get one.

Great, tomorrow's another day of practice on the road. I wonder how long can I be able to maneuverer the vehicle all by myself? I'm starting to get tired of the incessant callings and comments by the instructor. The hour long of practice did seems like hourssss when I had to concentrate driving on the road. Singapore roads have damn lot of ongoing construction and the sickening taxis that forever refuses to signal their directions make it challenging for an amateur like me, to drive.

Blame it on my slow reflexes. HAHA.

Yea, I shall slack the day off fruitfully today. :D

Emptiness is not Nothingness

Dear Shooting Star,

Been idling after weeks of jobless days. Yet, this time doesn't seem to be that mundane as I've been attempting to be fruitful and happy for being not belonged or committed to things. Afterall, I hate school, not just for no reason but just hate the idea of school. Anyways, this feeling has been rooted since I was 6.

I am still in this pending mode, when things applied needs waiting and waiting and waiting.

The anticipation will be the Chinese New year and what's great for this year is that I needn't be tied down by heavy school stuffs and the paraphernalia. YES!

I'm happy that I finally cleaned and cleared my room after literally 2 months of deliberate neglect, since this room gave me bad memories of meaningless mugging for As. What's fun is that I happen to read some snippets of my diary written during my primary school days. Things that I whine is so trivial and naive. Such as the moaning of my mother's behavior which is still prevalent now. What doesn't change of the things I write in my personal diary is my tendency to pen down during turbulent periods while omitting the days when I'm in complete elation.

At some moments, I wonder if it's okay for me to just blindly pass through the days, while trying to completely forget the mistakes that I committed last year. I wondered if I've changed for the better.

:/

Unfortunately went to a multi-level marketing company and the sales associate kept reminding me of the pragmatism of the society- Money makes the world goes round. I shudder at the time when I realize how small is my network and how should I be to make myself independent, monetarily, emotionally and whatever aspects in life.

Mans, I guess this idling has made me think so much. I suppose this's natural, when I'm in a state of nothingness now.

I've noticed my likings of staring at the skies, the beautiful clouds and the sunset in a foreign land. A good way to numb the senses and marvel the beauty of nature.

Love,
Heal

Hellokt

Dear Shooting Star,

Been doing some mindless stuff over the net, such as checking out the facebook and literally "stalking" some strangers. The danger of the net, when the whole world is just at your fingertips.

Changed my profile name to make myself 'invisible'. But what the heck, when I did nothing that is bad.

Wonder how my sister can be so shrewd at times but sometimes I have to worry about her.

Went to Batu Pahat last Thursday. Many thanks to them out there who drive us around, cook for us and share us things. For example, granny would even go to the extent of cooking for us few of her best dishes even when her legs is weak. Or lending me her shoulders to lie on when I dozed off in the car.

:D

I was so happy that I managed to dabble a few Bahasa Malayu with my grandma's neighbours. I can remember the first Malay word that I initiated- 'semalam'.

My favourite- 鹅菜, anchovies, braised pork leg and Korean strawberries

Bought nice waffles biscuit from Grandma's neighbours. Simple ingredients, eggs, flour and sugar but  baked with love. How hard it is for them to earn money, when they are paid merely $3 per kg of the waffles made.

The charm of a rustic village is when you can meet friendly people who chat with you and smile warmly at you. Love the sound of the morning breeze and the breath of the fresh air. And of course, the cute kitty cats who meowed yearningly at you (of course, of the sake of food).

Batu Pahat has slowly developed to become more modernised. Shopping there has been hearty, partially because of shopping with friends. Million thanks again to bring us around this beautiful city.

Drove us to the hai kou and remembered that as the venue that my past uncle brought us during Chinese new year. Reminiscence.

Didn't realize that many of my cousins are already high school students. Really in a denial state that time really flies. All the best to their studies!

Today I received a slight shocking news. While I suspected that, I did not expect that will be true in realism.

Come on, wake up KT, the world does not mould as what you anticipate.

True enough, girl's instincts are always good generally.

Expect the unexpected

Love,
Heal

I'm SO fed up

LISTEN UP. I'M NOT FOR YOU TO LAUGH AT AND TO DENY OF ANYTHING.

WHAT THE HELL, WHEN U WANT TO LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLE'S TALKING BEHIND.
WHAT THE HELL, WHEN YOU BECAME SO OVER-INVOLVED WITH THE STUPID WORDS OF OTHERS.
WHAT THE HELL, WHEN SOMEONE IS SO NICE AND BECAME USED INSTEAD.

When things become a nasty vicious cycle, the blame will always be on the victim. Yet, do you know that the fault does not entirely lies at the other, but you?

Truly, the mouth is evil, so shut up and do something.

Avatar!

Dear shooting star,

Went to watched Avatar and I cannot believe that my sister would think that the movie is boring. My reaction first was WHAT?!

Truly, while I wasn't any avid sci-fi movie goer, what touched me was the indirect narrating of the avarice of human nature in bits of the story. At the same time, I could sense a slight skepticism on the current 'war on terror' by America, when the humans relate the fight against the indigenous groups in the 'other world' as a fight on 'terror with terror'.

The movie also reflects the ever avariciousness of human beings. The never-ending desire to exploit and get anything that is even beyond their means. Sometimes, while we want to help others, have the thought in mind be that we would want to help out unconditionally or otherwise?

I might regret of the fact that the I would sometimes demand for the latter, since the practical world or rather, society moulds me to be that. Sadly, kindness does not beget kindness.

Hence, my new year's resolution is to help someone, irrespective of who they are, unconditionally. Be they- passing cloud or my friends; as long as I can be their listening ear, a helping hand.

Love,
Heal

Back to my comfy island! <3 u Singapore

Dear Shooting Star,

My journey to Korea has halted on the 01.01.2010.

Back home with many mixed feelings. Generally, I find the trip as enjoyable and the most well scheduled itinerary (kudos to Linda, the Chinese-Korean tour guide). None of the day's activities did really impact me the most, and I find all of the activities as relatively fun, except for the  sites of "coerced" buying of Korean produce.

Shopping in Korea was ichiban, since Korea is afterall the land of trendy stuffs. However, the language barrier did deter me of a hearty shopping though. The Koreans' current trend is being bespectacled to the extent of wearing lens-less glasses. Amusing.

Linda explains the brief history of Korea. They have been literally scarred by the major war, such as the suppression of the Japanese troops during the World War 2 and the Korean War. Hence, this will somehow explain their resentment towards Japanese and Americans, of how they had exploited them and specifically abused them. For example, the nation's largest food and beverage company, Lotte, sets up a fast food chain, Lotteria, to vie against the world's multinational fast food chain- Macdonalds. In an extreme case, they had a month of anti-American movement, such as a month of abstaining away from purchasing any American fast food.

On the flipside, the series of war and hurt did strengthened the country. Korea became Asia's few leading nations and the world's largest car producer. Indeed, the hurt gave them the tenacity to strive on and to prove especially their neighbouring country (Japan I mean), that they can also improve to be a cosmopolitan city.

I was slightly ashamed of myself of my initial despise of Korean cars, since I initially had the mentality that their cars are  the substandard of that of the Japanese cars. However, observing their cars on the roads, many of their cars are marvellous and doesn't seem to be lagging. Hence, next time if I should buy a car, I wouldn't mind a Korean car. (: Perhaps a Hyundai MPV, but to start something small, maybe a Kia picanto. Heh.

Basically, there are 5 types of Korean car company, namely Hyundai, Kia, GM-Daewoo, Renault-Samsung and Ssangyong. The first car company is Hyundai and many other car
companies rose during the economic boom in 1988, when Korea held the world Olympics.

Oh ya, Korea is originally spelled as "Corea". Yet, because of during the Japanese occupation and the Jap's chauvinistic and power-hungry fervour, they think it was outrageous to be spelled as Corea since the letter 'C' is arranged first than 'J'-Japan. ( When I heard this, my reaction is WTF)

Something that I slightly dislike about their culture is their nonchalance towards the performance of cosmetic surgery. To them, it seems to be any substitute for facial. Yet, this phenomena has been all in the rage worldwide, since the competitive nature of the society makes it compulsory to ever look good, so as to win and gain superiority over the rest.

Also, they are not as polite as I would expect them to be. Nevertheless, they are much better than the typical Chinese mainlanders. As such, if we were to block their way, they would not even say "excuse me" and just blatantly pushed us away.

The culture shock experienced was during the trip to their spa. The moment I entered the ladies room, I was so surprised that I was teary-eyed. Bevy of ladies  are in their birthday suits! Great. Compared to the typical Singaporean ladies, they are many times more comfortable with their bodies. For instance, they will strip themselves in the ladies changing room itself, while we have to queue up in the washroom to change to our swimming suit.

Compare the living lifestyle of Koreans to Singaporeans? I would say that I still prefer my country, despite the suppressing political nature and the ever hot climate. Since I love the accessibility of my country, the food varieties of my country and last but not least, my family and friends.

I LOVE SINGAPORE.
I LOVE THE WORLD AND RESPECT THEIR CULTURES! <3
sarang heyo!

Love,
Kai Teng
